I honestly wish pacific cycle can continue to mass produce stranger things mongoose and hope customizing it can catch fire and it can bring young kids into the hobby.DIG PHOTO ANNUAL #2022 - 220 pages of global BMX coverage. Haro lineage is on the right path but the price is not targeted the kids. asking a 16yrs old to spend $2000 to buy a un-ride-able 80’s GT performer is not going to work. The only other bike genre I believe that can rival old school is klunkers.īut both genre are aging, I don’t see any young people here in the museum, seriously, I think everyone here is over the age 40. and the ability to access thousands of different aftermarket parts to make any build 1 of a kind makes old school bmx the king of bike genre. The biggest difference between new school, 29er, mtn bikes & road bikes vs old school bmx is all other types of bike genre, no matter what you do with the bike with aftermarket parts, it still looks pretty much the same, unlike old school bmx, it’s just visually stunning. I like the budget builds and this bike does allow for an old-school style option.

The collectibility can take the fun out of it. Hopefully, i can see more of customized stranger things mongoose and it will become a trend and help new people to experience the magic of old school bmx without dropping a lot of cash & restoration work to start. i don't need to worry about de-value the bike. because unlike a hutch, or a gt, i could care less if i mix brands around.
#Mongoose stranger things 3 freestyle upgrade
If mongoose continue to sell the bike, this can become a honda civic of old school bmx, a cheap, good looking bike that you can actually upgrade and improve it's performance and it's fun, i have more fun customizing this bike than any other bike. my rough estimate, there is around little over 6000 units sold since 2019. Whatever the case maybe, here are the facts, 1) this is a mongoose bmx made by mongoose, 2) this is a mongoose bike & it's actual design is base off the old school mongoose from the late 70's, early 80's 3) it's highly customize-able, when we though this is a 1yr run limited edition bike? pacific cycle made even more this year so anyone that wants this bike ? there is plenty to go around. or simply, a cheap "old school" look bike alternative we can ride around without worrying about damaging the vintage or getting it stolen. Many believe this is trash, department store, novelty bmx, which in many ways, it's mostly true.īut i see this in a very different way than most people, imo, this is the cheapest way to introduce old school bmx (as a genre) to people outside of our community, means kids that's probably gonna pick up big ripper, cult or sunday or 30's, 40's men got bitten by the old school bmx bug recently.
